Local dues for ALL OFFICIALS (including new officials) are due by June 30th to Pat Julian, but you can pay them early. The dues will cover you for the 2017-18 seasons... Checks can be made out to GYTOA and mailed to her at 2385 Oak St.. Salem, Ohio 44460. You can also pay Pat in person at any of the meets she will be working. Anything postmarked after June 30th will be subject to a $20 late fee ($40 total). If your dues are not postmarked by August 15th the late fee goes to $30 ($50 total) and anything after January 1st is a $40 late fee ($60 total). Anyone who does not pay their dues is considered a member not in good standing and is ineligible to officiate until their dues have been paid. Your state dues will be due during the same time and will be paid directly thru MyOhsaa, information will come direct from them as to when you can begin paying them.

Congratulations to Ted Yuhaniak on the announcement of him winning the 2016-17 OHSAA State Active Official of the Year for Boys Cross Country. Ted was nominated and ultimately chosen for this award based on his many years of dedication to the sports of track & field and cross country, specifically his work with Salem Cross Country.

Cancellation Policy


Meetings will only be canceled under the following circumstances:
- If the school we are having our meeting at is closed the day of the meeting, our meeting is automatically canceled.
- The school notifies us of a special issue that would cause us not to be able to hold our meeting. IE scheduling issue, electrical or water issue etc.
- Sever Weather as determined by the GYTOA President.
Notification will be made via the following:
- Web site
- Facebook
- News Media ( we notify them and it is up to them to run it)
- NO CALLS WILL BE MADE. If in doubt please check the web site, Facebook or call BJ Duckworth, Bill Julian, Pat Julian, Tom Sapp. No credits will be given if someone shows up to a canceled meetings
- No Meetings will be rescheduled unless we have two or more canceled meetings during the Winter/Spring or Fall respectively.

PLEASE NOTE**** The state meeting is scheduled thru a joint effort of Austintown Fitch Athletics, the GYTOA and the OHSAA office. This meeting is sponsored by the OHSAA and is subject to cancellation by our policy, by their office or the representative of their office who will be administrating the meeting.
